Rob Stagg - Treasurer
|
After not playing music for 25 years I picked up a saxophone and started to play again in the year 2000. After a couple of years I got up enough nerve to ask Gord Hembruff if I could play in the Port Moody Community Band and he said “of course”. I later joined the Inlet Band and played jazz for many years.
My musical journey has taken me many places. I have had the incredible experience to learn and be mentored by master musicians. I played on the stage of the Orpheum Theatre, in many concert and jazz band events, in Cuba, at the Bistro Jazz Jam nights and with my shivering band mates in the Community Band welcomed the Christmas Train to Port Moody on cold, cold winter nights (minus 15 degrees one year!). Music is a lifelong pursuit. I have learned a lot but there is always more to discover and it’s never too late to start. Join us! |
